New York experimental producer/composer Bryce Hackford's work covers a broad spectrum ranging from dance, ambient, pop and new music to interdisciplinary sound art projects. For ICM012, he focuses on the subtle undercurrent that interconnects his varied work. Diegetic Music captures a series of rehearsals between Hackford and dancer Brittany Bailey at their Downtown Manhattan studio.
Hackford has performed and DJed at MoMA PS1, The New Museum, Pioneer Works, Panorama Bar, The Kennedy Center; shared bills with with Roedelius, Jaki Liebzeit, Silver Apples, Levon Vincent, Laurel Halo; released music with DFA, Smalltown Supersound, PRAH Recordings, meakusma, Other People, Crwdspcr, Perfect Wave; collaborated with Delia Gonzalez, Joakim, Andrew Vanwyngarden, Arp; and held residencies at The Watermill Center, Pioneer Works, Abrons Arts Center, and the PRAH Foundation.
